We have a small flock of Gotland sheep who we breed for their fabulous wool quality. Our Gotlands are shorn twice a year, spring and November.

A Gotland's 'summer shear' is taken in November and produces the beautiful fine curls grown over the summer months, it has a longer staple and is much finer than the winter clip done in April. The locks fall apart easily making it perfect for spinning as well as felting and decorative crafts.

Please note - the item for sale is a raw and un-washed fleece. Every care is taken with all of our animals to produce beautiful fleeces of top quality, and fleeces are checked and obvious impurities removed before shipping, however they do come from animals who roam freely and naturally in the great outdoors, so we recommend you do wash your item before you use it.

Our gotlands are part of a special flock of sheep who live at Low Auldgirth Steading, and graze open herbal lays as part of a regenerative grazing system. To find out more please visit www.lowauldgirth.co.uk.

If you are interested in international shipping please get in touch, and we'll work out a price tailored to suit you.
